Free Fall Live in Austin!
Solillaquists of Sound Pics
AND MORE

Man so its really bout to go down! This week Austin are you ready for it? SXSW Interactive and Film are already in full swing and got me trippin'! So much to do, but tonight I've got to do the radio show on www.kaosradioaustin.org from 11p.m. - 1a.m., so I figured I'd also blog.

Cuz it's been quite a weekend. I should have carried my camera everywhere, but alas... just these 2 shows so far. Lets work backwards.

Ingebrigt Håker Flaten in association with Epistrophy Arts presented the Texas debut of internationally acclaimed jazz trio, Free Fall on March 12. And man, it was amazing!

Free Fall is Ingebrigt Håker Flaten (Austin) – double bass, Hovard Wik (Oslo, Berlin) - piano and Ken Vandermark (Chicago) – clarinets.

At the Austin Art and Music Partnership

Just magical music.

And a wonderful crowd.

It really went down.

AND it was BYOB.

And DJ Stef loved it and said she never saw anything like that in her life.

So there you go.

And last MOnday, AustinSurreal.com presented Solillaquists of Sound with Kydd, Crew54, Chicken George and DJ JazzOne at the Mohawk, and yeah, it really went down.

Chicken George

JazzOne held it down all night!

Kydd and crew really surprised me man. Some really dope and unique hip-hop coming out of Austin.

Pretty much killed it.

Chicken George giving Swamburger a couple of his mixes that featured some of Swamburgers tracks.

Crew54!

Solillaquists of SOund GOT MERCH! Do you?

Silillaquists of Sound had quite the SHOW! Seriously, they jam, and everyone is off the chain, but it comes together so amazing on their live show.

Divinci on the drum machines killin' it, they all bring something really real to the table.

And so it was, tomorrow is another Monday already. You can see SoS live Monday night at Red 7!

And click the photos below for better looks at these train shots. This is a new segment of the blog that I am calling ON MY BLOCK, cuz that's pretty much my block.

See you in the streets this week y'all!
